Please Note there are many types of E-Bike but only some are capable of being made Road Legal

A Serious E-Bike or E-DirtBike has to have a certain Minimum size to even be considered for Road Use.
A Small style E-bike is NOT eligible for Enduro Class Registration as it will never meet the 900 mm minimum required seat height, and a 310 mm or above sump clearance. If you wish to register such a bike then it will either need a Certificate of Conformity or a Type Approval certificate, this is very unlikely unless the Ebike is sold specifically mentioning this.
Self Registration of an OFF Road E-Bike
You may Register an E-Bike as an OFF Road Bike at the DVLA.
This Registration does not allow Road Use, but it confirms you as the owner of the bike and may prevent the bike being ceased by an Authority whilst they establish the ownership of the bike.
We Strongly Recommend the Voluntary Registration of All Off Road Vehicles , Petrol and Electric.

Larger E-bikes such as the Sur-Ron Light Bee X off road can be Enduro Registered for Road use. Doing it yourself requires a bit of effort but its well worth it. The Sur-Ron Light Bee X can be driven on a Drivers Licence such as a power class similar to 50cc class Moped in the restricted form or a 125cc Class Licence in de-restricted form.
Then we have the E Bikes such as the Sur-Ron Light Bee S, the Ultra Bee and the Storm Bee, all of which are whole new Serious Road contenders, but you will have to consider your Licence Qualifications for these higher power E-Motors.
Please give WPB a call to discuss your requirements.
